Nationwide Advances in Computer Science

The College Board and the National Science Foundation (NSF) are announcing an extension of their partnership to support teachers and schools in offering the new Advanced Placement (AP®) Computer Science Principles course in the fall of 2016. During the last few years, NSF organized and provided funding for teams of teachers and faculty to work together and create, pilot, evaluate and revise a rich range of resources and materials aligned with the AP Computer Science course. Through these efforts, AP Computer Science Principles already has been piloted in hundreds of schools across the nation. These efforts are significant in preparation for the official AP course offering in the fall of 2016.

Press Release Excerpt: Helping Baltimore Businesses Recover

The Administrator of the SBA, Maria Contreras-Sweet, today joined Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Sen. Ben Cardin, Reps Elijah Cummings, John Sarbanes and Dutch Ruppersberger, as well as Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) President and CEO William H. Cole, IV, to announce additional resources to help businesses damaged by the civil unrest. In addition to previously announced disaster assistance for small business and home owners, the SBA has pulled together resources aimed to help rebuild the Baltimore community after recent events.
