SBA and EPA Conflict Over Clean Water Act
According to the Washing Examiner, a Small Business Administration watchdog agency, the Office of Advocacy, wrote an opinion to the EPA on October1 encouraging them withdraw a new rule it is implementing under the Clean Water Act because it wrongly said the rule would not have an adverse economic impact. The letter said the proposed rule would place costs "directly on small businesses" that would have a "significant economic impact," despite EPA's claims to the contrary, raising annual permit costs by $20 million to $52 million and mitigation costs by $60 million to $114 million.
